Mr Christopher Soh, Assistant Director of Nursing, Emergency Medicine, was conferred the President's Award for Nurses, becoming the hospital's 10th recipient of this award.

Mr Christopher Soh

Assistant Director of Nursing, Emergency Medicine

Christopher has built his career of over 20 years at TTSH, with expertise in managing civil emergencies and large-scale disease outbreaks. He exemplifies excellent nursing in both daily operations and in crisis response. His critical contributions are evident in the areas of developing a robust team standing ready for emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks such as SARS, Ebola, Zika, H1N1, H7N9, MERS-CoV and COVID-19. Early last year, Christopher led staff across all family groups - clinicians, support, allied health, ancillary and administrative staff, to prepare the NCID Screening Centre within 24 hours to cope with the influx of COVID-19 screening, in time for the peak of the pandemic. His calm and nurturing leadership has gained the respect of all who work with him. It is thanks to Christopher’s tenacity in “peacetime”, that has ensured that his team of nurses is ever-ready and always clear on protocols. In the future, he hopes the nursing community can leverage on synergies and one another’s strength to be an integrative workforce at all levels- organisational, local, regional and international, to enhance nursing as a choice profession.
