Fit Agers Programme @ St. Lukes Eldercare Centre (SLEC)

St Luke’s Eldercare Centre (SLEC) has developed a key signature programme - the Fit Agers Programme – as a frailty intervention programme. Led by a team of Physiotherapists, Dieticians and Health Coaches from SLEC, the Fit Agers Programme is heldover the course of 12 weeks, where participants learn how to develop healthy habits, and make good lifestyle and behavioural choices that are sustainable in the long-run.

In terms of the exercise component of the Fit Agers Programme, participants are educated on how to exercise inside and outside of a gym environment, and are equipped with basic knowledge on planning their exercise regime to ensure they achieve the levels of physical activity recommended by the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidelines. For the diet component, participants are introduced to tips for eating healthily for musculoskeletal health and better control over chronic disease prevention and management of hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Participants will be educated on how they can calibrate their diets to ensure they have adequate nutrition and how to incorporate healthier alternatives in their diets.
