International Day of Older Persons (IDOP)
Observed on 1 October every year, IDOP is celebrated around the world to recognise and acknowledge the contributions made by older persons. In Singapore, our annual IGA-led IDOP celebrations encompass a wide range of activities from hands-on workshops to large-scale public outreach events depending on the needs of our older Singaporeans as well as our partners. For instance, IDOP 2023 was an intergenerational carnival with game booths and mass exercises centred on the theme of 'Inspiring Growth through the Ages'.
Our upcoming IDOP 2024 focuses on public exhibitions and workshops centred on Cognitive Health, which is one important domain of healthy ageing. Join us to learn what cognitive health is, its importance, and fun and interactive activities to maintain a healthy and engaged mind!

CHAT, CRAFT & CONNECT
Join our workshop specially curated for mild to moderate persons living with dementia and their caregivers this October at the National Museum Singapore Reunion Space.
Led by our experienced Senior Nurse Clinician from the TTSH Centre for Geriatric Medicine, this interactive session will impart skills and practical tips to caregivers in communicating and connecting with their loved ones.
Seniors Masterclass
Our Seniors Masterclass series strives to equip older persons with practical tips to take charge of their health, and empower family caregivers to support their loved ones confidently and competently. We collaborate with our partners to deliver geriatric-centric talks, seminars and workshops tailored to the needs and interests of our target audience.
Frailty Ready Hospital (FRH)
At TTSH, we serve some of the oldest populations in Singapore's central region and would need to be well-equipped to deliver care to increasingly frail patients. In 2023, IGA partnered with TTSH to launch the Frailty-Ready Hospital educational series which introduced the concept of frailty, implications on patient care, and how to identify and manage frail patients. The infographics are curated by our multidisciplinary team and the series is now in its second year with an expanded scope of domain-specific frailty knowledge.
Intensive Practical Course in Dementia Care
This 3-day Intensive Practical Course in Dementia Care is one of our signature courses aimed at building capabilities and equipping healthcare professionals with the skills necessary to care for persons living with dementia. The course is delivered by our multidisciplinary team of local experts and promises an engaging mix of didactic and hands-on segments.
