Adjunct Assistant Professor Bryan Ang is Deputy Head and Consultant of the Glaucoma Service at the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.

He is also the Deputy Clinical Director, Clinical Management Committee at the NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.

Dr Ang graduated from the National University of Singapore on the Dean's List for multiple years, obtained a Distinction in Surgery and was recognized as 2nd Best Candidate in Surgery in his cohort. He further received the Gold Medal as the Best Candidate in the NUS Masters in Medicine (Ophthalmology) examinations. Dr Ang was elected as a Fellow of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) in 2016 and the Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2017.

Dr Ang specializes in Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery. His surgical techniques, particularly in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), have been internationally recognized, winning prestigious awards including 1st Prize at the World Glaucoma Congress (WGC) 2023, Best Video at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting 2021, and 2nd Prize at the WGC 2019. Dr Ang has been invited to teach and speak on glaucoma surgery at numerous regional and international platforms, including the ASEAN Ophthalmology Society Meeting, Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Congress, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Annual Meeting, and the World Ophthalmology Congress.

Dr Ang is active in both teaching and research. He holds an Adjunct Assistant Professor appointment with the Department of Ophthalmology at the National University of Singapore, and trains Ophthalmology residents in clinical skills and advanced cataract surgery, as a member of the NHGEI Residency Core Faculty Team. To date, Dr Ang has published more than 50 scientific papers in international journals. He is an appointed International Research Collaborator with the Mayo Clinic, USA, and sits on the editorial and advisory boards of international journals, including Frontiers in Medicine (Ophthalmology) and Ophthalmology and Therapy. Dr Ang is also currently a member of the National Glaucoma Subspecialty Committee, College of Ophthalmologists, Singapore, and serves as Treasurer of the Glaucoma Association of Singapore.

Dr Ang is passionate about delivering quality clinical care. In 2014, he was awarded the Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Silver), and served as the Quality Reporting Officer for the NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital, from 2020-2023.
