Biodata

Dr Mala Satku graduated with MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 2007. She obtained her MRCS (Edinburgh) in 2010 and Masters of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 2013. Since then, she has been practising in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and is actively involved in post-graduate medical education as the Site Programme Director and Associate Programme Director for the Singapore Integrated Programme for Hand Surgery Residency. She is also an advocate for undergraduate medical education as the lead for Hand Surgery for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the Posting Coordinator for the Yong Loo Ling School of Medicine for Hand Surgery. She has been awarded the TTSH Top 20 Teachers Award as well as the NHG Teaching Award for Senior Doctors.

Dr Mala was recently awarded the Human Manpower Training and Development Fellowship Award in 2023 where she trained in the Department of Hand and Plastic Surgery in the Inselspital, University of Bern in Switzerland. She was also a previous awardee of the Singapore Society of Hand Surgery and American Society of Surgery of the Hand travelling fellowship.

​She has special interest in reconstructive microsurgery of the upper and lower limbs and hand and wrist surgery including arthritis and joint replacements of the hand and wrist.
