Dear Partners and Friends,

As Singapore reopens in phases and life begins to take on a new form, there is a sense of expectation in the air. Even as people celebrate the re-opening of the economy and activities, this also comes with the risks of a second wave. Our teams must remain vigilant to ensure a “Safe Transition” and possibly work even harder to keep those we care for safe. As leaders, we need to ensure that the morale and well-being of our staff are looked after so that they can focus on looking after our patients and beneficiaries. This issue of the Central Health Newsletter looks at efforts by Central Health partners to care for their staff in the midst of the pandemic.

Teams have been working together across institutions to care for residents of Central Singapore, including the sharing of resources like TTSH’s innovative face shield designs. Care Corner shares their story of the Care Acts initiative, and how their staff have benefited from acts of service even when their usual services were disrupted. Ren Ci introduced a multi-platform psychosocial support programme for staff, while All Saints Home reflects on the various ways they have been caring for their staff throughout the past weeks.

We are learning to adapt to our new normal, and even as we continue to care for our patients and residents, we should also care for ourselves. Check in with your coworkers – something as simple as a thank you can go a long way.

Here’s to continued good health to all.

Yours Truly,
Ms Loh Shu Ching
Executive Director,
Division for Central Health
Tan Tock Seng Hospital & Central Health
