Safe Medication Consumption During Your Hospital Stay

Safe medication consumption is important throughout your hospital stay. In this patient education resource, you can find out more information on how our clinical staff will manage your medication during your hospitalisation.

At Tan Tock Seng Hospital, our doctors, nurses and pharmacists will manage your medication needs throughout your hospital stay. 

Important to Note:

  • Inform your nurse of your existing medications.

  • Allow your nurse to temporarily keep your own medications.

  • Consume only medications given by your nurse.

  • Ask your doctor or nurse before you consume any long-term medications such as insulins, blood-thinners and traditional medicines.

  • Inform your doctor, nurse or pharmacist if you have any type of drug or food allergy.

During Your Hospital Stay

  • All your medications, including long-term ones, will be reviewed by your doctor and pharmacist.

  • Your doctor will prescribe appropriate medications for you based on your health condition.

  • Your nurse will serve your medications to you timely.

  • Inform your doctor or nurse if you have any concerns regarding your medication.
