Biodata

Adjunct Assistant Professor Remesh Kunnasegaran serves as a consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a specialization in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement Surgery. Dr Remesh has a keen interest in robotic-assisted surgeries, as well as complex and revision procedures around the hip and the knee. He also serves as the Programme Director for the NHG Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Programme.

Dr Remesh graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2008 and completed his Orthopaedic training in 2018. He served as the Chief Resident in 2015 and completed the Singapore Chief Resident Programme in 2017. He was also awarded the Best Junior Resident and Best Senior Resident awards in 2014 and 2016 respectively.

Dr. Remesh received the Health Manpower Development Plan award from the Ministry of Health, allowing him to pursue sub-specialty training in Perth, Australia.

During this time, he gained valuable experience in advanced robotic techniques and the intricacies of complex hip and knee surgeries. Additionally, he had the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Adolph V. Lombardi Jr in New Albany, Ohio, where he participated in complex hip and knee surgeries.

Dr Remesh has been recognized with numerous awards throughout his career, including the NUS Dean’s Honour Roll for Teaching Excellence and the NHG Best Teacher’s award in 2022.

In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr Remesh has a robust research portfolio, with contributions to various esteemed journals and conferences. He is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Singapore Orthopaedic Association, and is a Board Member in the Chapter of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Academy of Medicine.
