This workshop aims to equip participants with these essential skills and knowledge to boost their confidence and competence in providing older adults with quality and meaningful rehabilitation, aligning with latest evidence and best practices in geriatric care.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify changes related to ageing, geriatric syndromes and their impact on health and function,
- Describe comprehensive geriatric assessment and its components,
- Perform and evaluate relevant functional outcome measures (aligning with OneRehab requirements where applicable),
- Apply the International Classification of Function, Handicap and Disability (ICF) framework in identifying rehabilitation needs,
- Apply a person-centred approach in goal setting and tailoring intervention,
- Prescribe effective and evidence-based treatment intervention, built on key principles of exercise prescription,
- Discuss issues surrounding potential for rehabilitation and motivation for exercise.
