  • Spinal cord implant restores ability to walk

    ​As part of the RESTORES research study, our rehabilitation care team designed intensive and engaging rehab programmes following the implantation of spinal cord stimulation electrodes, which helped bridge the neural pathways that were irrevocably damaged by their spinal cord injuries.

    The Air Master Service helps those with chronic lung or heart disease manage their breathlessness.

  • Reconnecting with his love of music with a 3D-printed thumb prosthesis

    Together with Occupational Therapist Ms Faith Ang, the team developed a 3D-printed thumb prosthesis, which fits Mr Chia perfectly enough to play the erhu once again. Today, Mr Chia continues to hone his skills in playing classical tunes with his instrument.

  • First hospital to roll out flexi-shifts for nurses

    We piloted a highly agile workforce model, coined the Liquid Nursing initiative which allows flexible scheduling and modularised roles for our full-time nurses. The initiatives have resulted in greater work-life balance, greater job satisfaction, and more streamlined processes for our nursing workforce.

    Making a difference with para-nursing volunteers

    Our para-nursing volunteers are a dedicated group of individuals who dedicate their time to care for our patients at the TTSH-Integrated Care Hub. Many shared that providing care for our patients reminded them of their family members who once went through a long recovery journey. Recovering in the hospital ward can be a lonely journey, especially for those with no next-of-kin.

The Tan Tock Seng Hospital Heritage

Founded in 1844, TTSH was the first hospital in Singapore founded by the people for the people. Our founder, Mr Tan Tock Seng made a call for our hospital to care for the poor and needy, giving them access to healthcare. This call remains close to our heart till today as the People’s Hospital.
