Introduction to Diabetes Services

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that requires life long management. Studies have shown that control of blood glucose reduces complications by 50%.

It is important to know what diabetes is and the skills to prevent complications. This knowledge and skills will allow you to live and manage your condition with confidence.

Our Services Include:

  1. Education on lifestyle changes, such as incorporating exercise into your lifestyle
  2. Range and effects of available oral agents for diabetes
  3. Teaching on insulin administration
  4. Teaching on home blood glucose testing
  5. Advice on prevention and management of acute diabetic complications such as hyperglycemia (high blood glucose) and hypoglycemia (low blood glucose)
  6. Management and prevention of chronic diabetic complications such as foot amputation
  7. Education for patient and family on coping with diabetes
